Please ReadRani Pediatrics: Our Plan
Rani Pediatrics is open. It is a responsibility to our patients that we take very seriously. At Rani Pediatrics we understand that all of your children’s other needs did not disappear because of the new challenges presented by COVID-19. Below are specific categories for our facility and staff, along with CDC protocols, to protect those in our care.
Four separate HVAC ventilation systems:
1. The Well Visit lobby and exam rooms have one system.
2. The Sick Visit lobby and exam rooms have two air intakes for a second HVAC system.
3. The third lobby and the Business office also have their own, separate HVAC systems.
4. Additionally, each HVAC system is equipped with hospital quality filtration.
This means our facility cannot be cross contaminated by an AC/heating system!
Touchable Surfaces:
As most of you know, Rani Pediatrics has always had a daily disinfecting routine that we believe is unmatched by any other health facility. Additionally, we have implemented the following:
1. One staff member to disinfect the Sick Visit lobby and bathrooms (anything touchable) every 10 to 15 minutes or sooner if needed.
2. One staff member to disinfect the Well Lobby every 15 minutes or as needed.
3. We are equipped with the protective measures that the CDC has recommended to keep healthcare workers safe. Do not be alarmed by these protective measures, they are designed to keep the staff healthy and patients safe.
4. Medical assistants are assigned to either the Well Visit exam rooms or the Sick Visit exam rooms and will not be crossing over.
5. When our musical clock over the fireplace chimes at the top of each hour, staff members will collectively disinfect their work area, wash their hands, then put on new protective gear. We call this “Code Doodle” after Darla and Jolene!
Setting an Appointment:
1. When you call to make an appointment, you will be asked a few questions as per CDC protocols. It’s better to ask everyone than to guess who should be asked.
2. To reduce person to person contacts we are asking that only one ‘healthy’ adult accompany each child on that visit. We know there are circumstances where such a request is a hardship. Be honest about your needs, and we will figure something out.
3. Face masks will be provided for anyone who asks for one.
4. Face masks (provided) are required for anyone with cough or sneezing.
Safety and Convenience Options, we will consider:
1. Separating the work day for Well Visits only and then Sick Visits only.
2. Extending the day to 7:00 pm to enhance ‘social distancing’ in the lobbies.
3. Specific weekend times for patients needing evals (i.e. ADHD evals) where no other types of visits will be scheduled.
Why Are We Doing This?
We know this means a greater demand on our staff and the doctors, but that is our responsibility to the community. We are so proud of everyone who works here and for their acknowledgement that we must rise above ourselves to maintain the continuity of care so vital to our patients physical and mental development.
A great facility and a great team... Rani Pediatrics, now more than ever, is “the doctor your children deserve”.
